Many of you have children who look up to you and aspire to follow your footsteps in the land of entrepreneurship. As you know, being a business owner can be very demanding and interfere with your ability to balance personal task. Today our sole purpose is to teach you how to encourage and support your children as they to live out their dreams while simultaneously having a childhood.

Last week our CEO and founder Lamar Tyler sat down for a brief interview with 14-year-old Vegan Chef and CEO Shi LaChef and her mom.  They talked about how important it is to balance and protect your kid’s childhood while supporting their big dreams.

Here’s what you should know about this 14-year-old prodigy.

How to Support a Youth Entrepreneur

Shi LaChef is the fun and vibrant 14-year-old youth Chef, CEO, and TV personality committed to transforming the lives of her peers through healthy eating and thinking. After getting off to a rocky start at home, she began speaking positive affirmations over herself, and found that this not only improved her home life but also made it super easy to choose healthy foods. Shi LaChef then took healthy cooking to the next level by transforming healthy foods that are usually considered “unappealing” like Brussels sprouts and broccoli and made them inviting and “SNACalicious. Her passion for eating healthy translated into a desire for all children to be healthy while enjoying food that tastes great.

Shi LaChef has been featured on Sister Circle, ABC, CBS, NBC, and FOX, has worked with top executive chefs, and has been featured in some of Atlanta’s upscale restaurants. As part of her growing brand, she conducts a series of workshops, hosts events, caters, and is committed to developing products that parents and children can feel good about.

Self Expression

As a parent, your first instinct is to provide the best life for your kids. In her interview with Lamar Shi mentioned that she had a hard time adjusting to being a teenager and feeling loved by her parents. When discovering a hobby she loved; she learned that her parents only wanted the best for her. This is why it is important to allow your kids to express themselves through art and hobbies that are healthy and interest them.

The Importance of Self-care

Just like adults, children need self-care as well. This will show them the importance of taking care of themselves, especially during the busy times in their future business endeavors. They will have the task of balancing business, school, and normal childhood activities. Personal care should be at the top of this list. Teach your kids the value of balance by promoting self-care.

Creating Balance

Creating BalanceLastly, you want to show them the advantage of being organized because this will, in turn, lead to a balanced and successful business venture. It’s vital that they continue to do normal childhood activities while living their dreams as a business owner.

This year we are excited that several youth entrepreneurs will be present in the audience at TSP Live as a part of our Youth Initiative Program. Meet Shi LaChef and others who are making a large impact in our community this June at TSP Live.
