How to Have a Million Dollar PR Strategy on a Shoestring Budget:

  1. Leverage your current platform
  2. Leverage other people’s platforms -start with small and local platforms
  3. Google yourself
  4. Share old and new content
  5. Use customer testimonials
  6. Share free value on social

Leverage your current platform

What are you currently using to promote your brand? Start with what you have. Go live on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. Tell people about your products and services. Be consistent with your content. This builds trust and allows people to know who you are and what your brand stands for. Allow people to get to know your brand on a personal level.

Leverage other people’s platforms -start with small and local platforms

Don’t skip out on authentic relationship building. Reach out and collaborate with other brands that have a similar customer base. Attend local networking events and visit your local chamber of commerce. Networking is necessary for building and growing your business.

Google yourself

Have you taken the time to actually Google yourself? If not. Start today. Use sites like duckduckgo.com to get an accurate view of your Google profile. Work on writing and publishing content to build your Google profile.

Share old and new content

Curating content is the name of the game. The more you publish the more you will position yourself as an expert. Keep in mind that you don’t have to reinvent the wheel when it comes to content creation. Repurpose content that you already have. Look back on something that did well in the past and spice it up. Everything doesn’t have to be new.

Keep features like blog posts, website or podcasts interviews in regular rotation on your social media pages. Take some time to Google what your competitors are doing and recreate or mirror what they are doing on your platforms.

 Use customer testimonials

Word of mouth is the strongest form of advertisement. This is organic publicity. Let your customers sell your business for you. Screenshot messages and post them in raw form to your social media platforms and landing pages. This is what marketers call social proof.

Share free value on social

When you’re building an audience you want to also build trust. Be open and let your followers know who you are. Utilize the live video feature on Facebook and Instagram. Don’t put so much focus on going viral, just be a solution to your customers.
